About Olivet Seminary

Olivet Seminary India was launched in April 2020, by Olivet Assembly of India to cater to the needs of the theological education and literacy among general public in order to equip them freely which can be access at their own space and time and convenience.

The need to launch OS India arises due to the different context of the larger Sub-continent India which has a unique culture and practices.

It collaborates with United States, California-based Olivet Seminary. The brief history of the birth of Olivet Seminary can be read below:

In 2000, Olivet Seminary was established as a part of the Bible college named the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS). OTCS functioned as a ‘seedbed' for missions, offering multiple fields of study and distance learning to ministry-bound students all over the world. OTCS developed quickly, necessitating several major changes to accommodate the school's diverse student body.

In 2004, Olivet University was incorporated and established multiple departments, each offering different degree programs while Olivet Seminary as a non-degree, non-credit theological education branch stayed an affiliated but distinct part of OTCS.

In 2014 Olivet Seminary launched its own international network partnering with churches interested in starting up their own seminary and ministry training. In this way it further established itself as a distinct ministry from Olivet University and its colleges and divisions. Olivet Seminary provided support in the areas of learning platform, course materials, and access by referral to admissions into for-credit programs such as Olivet University International’s (OUI’s) online, or OTCS’s residential programs.

After commencing an ambitious plan to launch many new certificate programs, and a new high capacity learning platform in 2019, Olivet Seminary’s local seminary network found new leadership from Immanuel Community Church in Bronx, NY. It currently maintains a network to 20 major countries globally.

In 2020, with the launch of OS India in an English version, OS India plans to expand to the regional languages in the coming days. Do come and be part of the exciting His-tory of the Lord in the country and the sub-continent region.
